The regal peacock...

We get so many beautiful cotton prints everyday, but sometimes one just strikes a cord. This is one of those.  Paisley Peacock, designed by Punch Studios for Hoffman of California, is a beautiful
metallic cotton print.

I love the colors and the elegance of the peacock. She is almost regal. There are a few more prints in the collection, so make sure to stop by and take a look. I just may have to make a pillow out of a
few of these prints. If you make something please tag us. I would love to see it!

Enjoy!

Watch us Friday nights on Styled to Rock...

It seems so long ago, but it is finally airing this Friday evening, October 25th, on Bravo....

We had so much fun being part of Bravo's new show, Styled to Rock, starring Rihanna. The cast was really great and we can't wait to see what they made from our fabric. Every week we will post the winner's dress and a few of their fabric selections here, as well as on our home page. We can't wait to see what you guys think.

Don't forget to tune in this Friday for the season premier of....

Enjoy!

We decided to move...

Welcome!

I know many of you just signed up for our WordPress blog, so I am so appreciative of you signing up here again. We think this new site will be easier to navigate and will have new features that make coming here more fun.  Make sure you use the new Pinterest button. I love it! We're in the process of updating our Pinterest page. I want to change the categories around and add a VIP section so we can feature our followers and their creations.

I hope you all watched the video tutorial we posted last month. We were so excited to partner with Mimi, from MimiGStyle. She drafted a super simple double knit top with some really great leather embellishments. Even if you don't end up making the shirt I loved just watching Mimi sew & explain the details. There are many good tips you can take away from the tutorial. Mimi sent us the shirts once she was done filming and we all had to try them on...

I thought it would be a nice way for you all to put a name with a face. On most days you can find us at our computers and/or running looking for fabric, filling back orders, and taking pictures. Here are a few pictures of us in action...

Again, thank you for following us here and keep your eyes peeled for our next MimiG for Michael Levine post. I know you're going to love the Fall cardigan she created.

Enjoy!

Mimi G Pattern Review & DIY Steps!

UPDATE! The fabric has sold out but there are some AMAZING options very similar to the one below in style, texture and color scheme. View them HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE & HERE

Hi Darlings!

Today I am sharing step by step pics on constructing this great cardigan using McCall 6844 pattern and THIS amazing textured FABRIC! Let's get to it!

Cut your pattern pieces for View C (6 total)
Lay the two front pieces on top of the back with right sides facing and pin shoulders ONLY at this point then sew shoulder seams using 5/8" seam allowance.
Then attach sleeve using the flat method. Pin center notch on sleeve to the shoulder seam, then pin front notch and back notch. Sew and ease the curves in.
 This is the sleeve attached
Now pin entire side seam and sleeve the entire thing closed (as shown in the white line) this is the easiest method to inserting a sleeve especially in knits.
This is how it looks when both sleeves are attached and side seams/sleeves have been sewn.
Now lay the two front peplum pieces on top of the one back peplum piece and sew along the sides (shown in the white lines)
Now we will attach the sewn peplum to the bodice.
With right sides facing pin the peplum to the bodice along the entire waistline as shown and sew.
Attached peplum
Now take two of the four cut pieces for the collar and sew two together as shown in the white line. Then do the same thing for the other two pieces.
Lay one on top of the other and sew all the way around the outer edge as shown on the white line and also along the bottom edges.
Turn the right side out and press.
NOTE: Sew the hem of the cardigan first before attaching the collar. Attach the collar to the cardigan by pinning and then sew.
All that is left to do is sew the sleeve hem and give a good press! All done.
Then we style it! I used a belt to cinch in the waist but you could wear it open too.

xoxo
